1652 Massachusetts Pine Tree 3 Pence Noe-34 Rarity-4 VF30. Many of the details are sharper than the assigned grade but the wear is uneven due to a wavy planchet. Fortunately the Pine Tree and the III denomination are bold, and most of the legends are easily readable even though it was struck slightly off center to K-12. The top of the 5 in the date is flattened by wear but the remainder of the date is strong. Glossy medium gray with lighter silvery gray toning on the devices. A very acceptable example of the "Pellets at Trunk" type of this tough denomination. Listed on page 39 in the 2013 edition of the "Redbook." Weight 17.4 grains.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
