(1672-94) London Elephant Halfpenny Breen-186 Rarity-4 VF20. Variety without diagonals in center of shield, struck on a thick planchet. Glossy chocolate brown delicately woodgrained with lighter brown toning on the obverse (elephant side). Smooth and very attractive, just worn. The only defects are some faint hairline scratches on the elephant and a couple very light rim bruises on both sides. Listed on page 46 of the "Redbook." Weight 244.4 grains.
