(1775) Imitation British Halfpenny Obverse Brockage VG10. Choice glossy chocolate and dark steel brown. Smooth and very nice for the grade, just worn. This is a full obverse brockage strike with no offset or shift between the normal and incuse (brockage) impressions. This piece was struck between the obverse die and the obverse of a previously struck piece that remained in position on the press. And we can determine the date because the strong die break at the throat of George III is found on pieces dated 1775. Listed on pages 65-6 of the "Redbook." Weight 84.2 grains.
Estimated Value $100-UP.
