1787 Machin's Mills Halfpenny Vlack 18-87C Rarity-4 VF20. Ten points sharper but covered with uniform extremely faint granularity. There are a couple traces of shallow verdigris at the bottom of the obverse and a few old, dull scratches hidden in the toning at the chin. The only obvious mark is a small chip out of the planchet on the rim at the feet of the seated figure, as struck. Slightly glossy chocolate brown with lighter steel brown toning on the highpoints. The date and legends are complete and clear. Listed on page 67 in the "Redbook." Weight 113.3 grains.
