1823/2 N-1 R2 Overdate 3 over 2 PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Frosty medium brown mixed with slightly darker chocolate and olive brown tones. No spots or stains and only a few small contact marks. The notable ones are a thin diagonal nick in the middle of the jawline and a very thin horizontal nick above the N in ONE. Nicely struck EDS without any crumbling in the dentils on the obverse. The overdate feature is sharp and the fields are slightly prooflike. A very nice example of date that is difficult to find in high grade. Called AU55 in the Bland census.
Our grade is AU50+, close to AU55. The attribution and Fitzgerald provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
Population 1; none finer at PCGS. Estimated Value $10,000-UP.
