1787 New Jersey Maris 34-J Rarity-3 F12. "Deer" head struck over a Connecticut copper. Glossy light chocolate brown. The obverse details are sharper than those on the reverse, as usual. No roughness or verdigris, but there is a small rim bruise right of the date and a couple old pin scratches on the reverse. Traces of undertype from the Connecticut copper are visible on both sides, but they are not obvious. Weight 144.7 grains. Listed on page 70 in the "Redbook." Estimated Value $200-UP
