1788 New Jersey Maris 75-bb Rarity-4+ "Running Fox before legend" VG10. Mostly glossy chocolate brown with lighter brown toning covering the devices. There is minor roughness covering the planchet, strongest in the fields and protected areas, but the eye appeal is decent for the grade. No marks or verdigris. LDS with shallow cud breaks along the left edge of the obverse. Struck slightly off center to K-5 leaving the bottom of the second 8 in the date and the upper part URIBUS UN off the planchet, but the date and legends remain easily readable. The "Running Fox" feature is clear. Weight 134.9 grains. Listed on page 71 in the "Redbook." Estimated Value $250-UP
