Appointing Alexander Burton of Pennsylvania as Consul of the U.S. at the port of Oporto in Portugal, and requesting that "His Majesty the King of Portugal Brazil and Algarves [John VI] his Governors and Officers to permit the said Alexander Burton fully and peaceably to enjoy the said office, without giving, or suffering to be given unto him, any molestation or trouble, but…to afford him all proper countenance and assistance…" Light soiling and one closed tear at lower edge.
