1835 C-1 R1. PCGS graded MS-63 Red. Lustrous mint red mellowing to steel brown with 70% of the red showing on the obverse, 85% on the reverse. A splash of dark olive toning mixed with microscopic verdigris at the dentils under the bust tip and traces of an old fingerprint in the field before the neck are the only defects on an otherwise gem half cent. LDS, Manley state 2.0, showing strong die clashmarks before the neck and chin.
Our grade is consistent with the PCGS grade. Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
