1830 N-6 R4 Small Letters Reverse VF25. Ten points sharper but there is a very shallow spot of fine corrosion on the neck and another smaller one on the bottom of the bust above the 8. These two spots are not very distracting but they do contain microscopic traces of dark verdigris. The other notable defects are a scuff of very faint hairlines on the neck, a few tiny nicks at LIB, a tiny rim nick right of star 13, and a stain of fine carbon at UNITED STATE. Glossy steel brown and light chocolate, slightly darker at UNITED STATE due to the carbon dust. MDS with a fine die crack from the bust tip. This example is nicely struck, which is quite unusual for the variety. All the stars show complete radials and there is no notable weakness on the portrait or wreath. A decent example of this tough "Redbook" variety.
