1841 N-1 (Proof Only) R5. PCGS graded Proof 64 Red. Brilliant mint red just starting to mellow to light steel brown with 90% of the original color remaining. This cent offers exceptional eye appeal, just a few tiny specks of dark toning from gem status. The best identifying marks are a tiny spot resting atop the head under star 7, two more at the dentils near star 13, and one more between the feet of the S & T in STATES. Sharply struck (which surprisingly is not always the case for this proof-only issue). Near the top of the condition census for the variety and one of the "reddest" proof large cents known. A superb date or type coin for the Petite Head large cent.
Our grade is consistent with the slab grade.
Estimated Value $10,000-UP.
