1842 N-7 R3+ MS60. Slightly faded mint red delicately toning to light steel brown on the highest points, at least half of the original color remaining. Some violet steel toning shows on the right side of the reverse. Would rate a grade several points higher if not for a mint-made planchet void or delamination along the dentils from below star 2 to star 3.
MDS, die state b. The points up from the top of E in AMERICA are gone. Softly struck, as usual, on the hair over the ear, upper portion of the hairbuns, and on the lowest curls. (A fully struck example is unknown.) CC#8 in the Grellman census. DWH #2021.
Estimated Value $400-UP.
