1846 N-2 R2 Repunched 1 EF40. Ten points sharper but lightly whizzed with a patch of very fine roughness left of star 11 and a couple more on the cheek. Very nicely retoned a lustrous medium brown with attractive cartwheel thanks to the light whizzing. The eye appeal is excellent in spit of the recoloring. Extremely rare
terminal die state, die state f, with rim cud breaks at TES and AM. The repunching left of the 1 is gone. CC#5 of 8 known in this die state. This cent is plated in the 2001 edition of the Grellman book on late date cents to illustrate the terminal die state. Noyes photo #30407. DWH #3225.
