1846 N-23 R6- Tall Date Repunched 1 VF35. Choice glossy medium brown. Superior eye appeal for the grade. The only mark is a dull, light rim nick at the N in UNITED.
Semi-unique terminal die state, die state b, with a strong rim cud break over TES. The repunching across the upright of the 1 is clear. Second finest of only two known with the cud break and CC#4 overall for this rare variety. This is the plate coin for the die state in the 2001 edition of the Grellman late date cent book. DWH #3230.
