1847 N-4 R3 Repunched 18 MS63. Attractive lustrous light steel brown with hints of very faded mint color in protected areas of the obverse. The only mark on otherwise choice satiny surfaces is a tiny flake in the planchet between the bases of the 4 & 7, as struck. Sharply struck with full radial lines in all the stars.
M-LDS, die state d early. The die crack at MER is strong and the section outlined by the crack it shifted outward slightly. The repunching on the 18 is clear. Tied for CC#3 overall but finest of the later die state by a wide margin. DWH #2062.
Estimated Value $400-UP.
