1855 N-10 R1 Italic 55 12-Star Die State MS62+. Frosty light bluish steel brown with underlying faded mint red in protected areas. The surfaces are covered with attractive satiny luster. Just a few trivial contact marks from choice, including a very tiny rim nick at star 1 and another at the E in UNITED.
EDS+, die state b. Star 6 is barely visible thanks to a die clog at that spot. Star 1 is still clear, although its outer tip is starting to fade thanks to some debris on the die (which grows to completely clog that star as well). DWH #1559.
Estimated Value $300-UP.
