1856 N-22 R6- Italic 5 MS60. Frosty steel brown with underlying faded red covering the protected areas. Possibly lightly cleaned and retoned. There is a thin arc of darker steel toning through TED-STATES-OF-A. The contact mark is a short, light scratch well hidden in the hair under ER in LIBERTY.
EDS, die state a. The dies are sharp and fine diagonal die lapping lines cover the obverse fields. CC#1,
the only mint state example known for this rare variety. Removed from an NGC slab graded MS63BN (NGC label included, and it shows the attribution and Reiver provenance). DWH #3026.
