We are offering a second example of the Apollo Spacecraft Command/Service Module model. This piece was also displayed in McClelland's office that exhibits far more wear, exposure and toning in contrast to the near pristine example offered in this auction. Both were made by the "W.J. Hyatt, Inc., North Hollywood, CA, Display Model Manufacturers" reads the label on the underside of the base.
One difference to point out is that there is an overlay sticker mounted atop the base that reads APOLLO SPACECRAFT North American Rockwell and their corporate logo. (The other is imprinted directly onto the base, North American Aviation).
The stencils and overlays, especially those in white, are heavily toned and it appears much of the discoloration is from cigarette smoke. We note what appears to be white residue both obverse and reverse of base. We are guessing this is an original issue of the model. The spacecraft does break apart in three section and still fit snugly together when assembled. 20.5" tall.
