Philip Turner (1739-1815) was an American surgeon stationed in New York and the surrounding area during the American Revolution acting as surgeon at the Siege of Boston and, for most of the war, he served as surgeon-general to the army's Eastern department. This is a revolutionary War pay voucher from the Connecticut Pay-Table Office acknowledging receipt of an order for a balance of pay due Philip Turner for 263 pounds.
