Lee, who led the Army of Northern Virginia against the Union Army in the Civil War. Henry Lee proved a colorful and significant politician and patriot, and was a delegate to the Congress of the Confederation. In 1788, he served in the Virginia convention and supported ratifying the United States Constitution.
