Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany: Original Hand Signed Document Dated 1894 with Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 (1859-1941) Kaiser Wilhelm proved one of the most recognizable public figures of World War I (with that mustache how could he not.) Unfortunately his personality described by historian Thomas Nipperday "romantic, sentimental and theatrical, unsure and arrogant, with an immeasurably exaggerated self-confidence and desire to show off, a juvenile cadet, who never took the tone of the officers' mess out of his voice, and brashly wanted to play the part of the supreme warlord." This tone and self-destructive posturing and failures on many fronts ultimately led to his abdication becoming the last German Emperor and King of Prussia.
Offered is an appointment (13 x 8.25") dated 1894 beautifully presented with a photo of the Emperor and boasting his unmistakable baroque signature. Also in the presentation is the Hindenburg Cross. The Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 is commonly referred to as the Hindenburg Cross or the German WWI Service Cross, was established by Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg, President of the German Weimar Republic in 1934. 19 x 21".
