Bezalel School Sterling Silver Torah Crown (Keter Torah), Jerusalem, Circa 1920. A finely crafted silver Torah crown produced by the Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts in Jerusalem. Founded in 1906, the school was instrumental in establishing a distinctive Jewish artistic language in the early 20th century, combining European craftsmanship with Middle Eastern influence and Hebrew cultural symbolism.
This crown is formed with arched ribs rising from a scalloped base band and meeting beneath a filigree domed rosette at the apex. The surface is richly worked with applied and pierced ornament, including stylized floral elements, medallions, and geometric motifs, and is set throughout with colored stones, with some original settings now vacant. Suspended bells remain affixed beneath ribs that are not attached to the base band. Hallmarked Made in Jerusalem, Palestine. Scratch tested numerous times and consistently tested as 92 or better silver.
