Brass Kadosh Plate, Early 20th Century. Oval brass Kadosh plate, repoussé and chased with dense decorative and symbolic motifs. The central medallion is dominated by a seven-branched menorah rising from a stepped base, surmounted by an applied Star of David, with additional beaded and foliate ornamentation radiating outward. An oval cartouche at the top bears the Hebrew inscription for Kadosh, framed by punched and raised borders.
The surrounding field is richly worked with repeating beaded bands, stylized foliage, and hammered oval reserves, creating a textured surface throughout. Cutouts and drilled holes near the lower edge suggest former attachment or mounting within a larger ritual framework. The reverse shows oxidation, solder remnants, and wear consistent with age and ritual use.
Surface exhibits tarnish, patina, and scattered corrosion, particularly to the central area, along with small losses and dents consistent with handling and age. Kedem Auction House provenance noted, with prior sale dating to 2002.
