Handwritten Esther Scroll (Megillah) in Decorated Olivewood Case. A traditional handwritten Esther scroll on parchment, housed in a cylindrical olivewood case adorned with hand-painted floral decoration and a Hebrew inscription. The carved and turned case features a warm patina and decorative bands, opening to reveal a compact scroll written in clear Hebrew script. The scroll remains legible and retains the character of a devotional object made for repeated ritual use during the festival of Purim. The parchment shows age-related wear including staining and areas of toning, along with old repairs consistent with long handling and storage. The case likewise exhibits minute surface flaws and signs of use, but remains intact and displays well.
