The scroll is fitted with turned wooden finials and wrapped in its original textile mantle. The front panel of the box bears a printed emblem with lions flanking a central cartouche beneath a crown, with Hebrew text identifying the artifact; the exterior shows age-appropriate wear, small tears, and surface scuffing consistent with longtime handling and travel.
Accompanying the scroll is a folded handwritten French letter dated 1892, written on commercial stationery bearing Paris retailer's stamps, in which the writer describes having had a small Torah scroll prepared as a keepsake ("souvenir") and mentions aspects of its execution and presentation.
