Kosher Slaughter Knife (Shechitah) with Hebrew Inlay. Traditional Jewish ritual slaughter knife (shechitah), featuring a broad rectangular steel blade with applied brass Hebrew lettering and a Star of David motif. The blade is inscribed in Hebrew, "In Israel", a phrase commonly encountered on Jewish ceremonial implements. The wooden handle is turned and fitted to a long tang, showing age-consistent wear and patina from use.
The blade displays an integral hang-hole at the forward corner and retains its substantial original form, consistent with knives produced for ceremonial rather than domestic use. Surface oxidation, darkened steel, and wear to the wooden grip are present, all commensurate with age.
