Émile Gallé proved to be a master of design, artistry and craftsmanship in his glasswork during the Art Nouveau movement at the turn of the 20th Century. His cameo cut glass creations are highly prized and this vase is a significant work that is exceptionally rare and museum-quality. Cascades of wisteria-like blossoms in wine and rose colors are achieved through acid etching through two layers of glass. On such a large vase, the effect is magnificent.
