1795 C-6a R2 Without Pole F15. Struck over a 1794 TALBOT ALLUM & LEE (TAL) Cent with NEW YORK. Sharpness VF30 but the rims were carefully rolled creating a high rim around both sides (for no logical reason at all). Otherwise this piece is very attractive, nearly flawless. The only mark is a faint vertical planchet flaw in the field before the portrait. Glossy chocolate and olive brown. The date and legends are all strong. Struck on a cut-down 1794 TAL Cent with New York. The "RK" of YORK is visible at the dentil tips well left of the date. That is the only clearly visible undertype. EDS, Manley state 1.0, without any hint of swelling right of the Y in LIBERTY, although this is the plate coin in the Manley book for his state 2.0. Weight 77.4 grains.
Estimated Value $750-UP.
