1824 N-4 R2 PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved. Choice lustrous bluish steel brown and olive with 10% of both sides showing faded mint red. Nearly flawless throughout. Satiny mint frost covers everything, even the highpoints, and the eye appeal is outstanding. The only marks, and it takes a good glass and some imagination to see them, are several nearly invisible ticks on the neck just left of the hair and a very subtle spot of slightly darker steel brown toning at the top of the 2 in the date. MDS. The arc line between the second S in STATES and adjacent O in OF is gone as are most of the inner circle segments, only the ones at stars 6-8 remaining visible. The die cracks on the obverse are clear and the fields show fine radial flowlines. Called MS65- and CC#3 of the confirmed examples in the Bland census.
Our grade is consistent with the PCGS grade. The attribution and Fitzgerald provenance are shown on the PCGS label.
Population 1; none finer in BN at PCGS. Estimated Value $10,000-UP.
