Above the portrait is an eagle perched on an American shield holding a banner with "E Pluribus Unum" in its beak; at top edge, below a decorative border, is "Assassinated At Washington 14 April 1865" and a quote: "I have said nothing but what I am willing to live by, and if it be the pleasure of Almighty God, to die by. A. Lincoln." Made by Thomas Stevens of Coventry, England. Size is 2 1/8 x 9½ in. One split at top right below decorative border and lacking the tassel, but a beautiful ribbon.
