Robert Morris: Significant Figure in American History, Financier of the American Revolution. ALS Dated 1803 (1734-1806) A remarkable and significant Founding Father of the United State, whose existence has all but faded from history. Morris is one of only two men to sign the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the U.S. Constitution. He founded and organize the Bank of North America and from 1789-1795 a US Senator. One page autographed letter signed "Philadelphia, January 20, 1803 to Col. J. Rhea Trenton in part: I have received both your letter and have sent them on to Gen'l Lee at the City of Washington….sorry I am that they bear so gloomy an aspect as to the Contract deposited with you for lands in question as the Gen'l will now possess the information he must determine for himself what is best fro him to do". Fascinating letter with mention of land speculators which is exactly how Morris found himself in debtor's prison for three and a half years.
