Orville Wright: Signed Photo First Manned-Flight, 1903 and Autographed Christmas Card Signed (1871-1948) Aviation pioneer with his brother, Wilbur credited with designing, building and flying the first sustained manned flight of an engine powered aircraft. Wilbur died in 1912 from exhaustion and typhoid fever but Orville continued with their company, and flew his last airplane in 1918. He retired but remained active as an elder statesman of aviation. Offered is a superb signed printed photo card of Orville piloting the first flight in 1903 signed in sharp fountain pen. 5 x 7" Near to mint save for a edge contusion at lower right border, stabilized by a tiny piece od acid free tape which in no way impacts the image or the superior signature. The Christmas Card is a fine letter sent after the holiday and apologizes for the tardiness. Undated and very clean. 6 x 10" when open. Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500
