1795 C-6a R2 Without Pole G5. Double Struck over a TAL Cent. Glossy uniform dark chocolate and steel, possibly retoned. Smooth and attractive. Just a few minor marks, including a rim nick above the E in LIBERTY. Double struck, but the only clear evidence of the double strike is at ICA where an extra CA is located about a millimeter from the normal CA. In addition there is strong undertype from the TAL Cent near the rim before the portrait and at F-AMERICA. The date is faint but can be made out with some effort and the legends are complete, although STATES is weak. Weight 80.4 grains.
Estimated Value $200-UP.
